His Presence Is Grace

I remember reading cards like it was a game, as a child. I had family that went to psychics and mediums. Who went to witch parties, and talked about it like it was no big deal. In fact, there is even talk about, older, now passed away members of my family, who were full blown witches…so much so, that it is not a big deal for us. So, when I started to dabble with the new age, it was also “not a big deal.” Only. It is…

My entire life, I thought, that I was a “good person” who cared about others, and helping people. This being, because my entire childhood, was full of niceties. People pleasing, and trying to help others feel good about themselves. I was obsessed, with making sure that people felt comfortable and supported, and loved…it is how the Lord made me – which the enemy used against me. The world lies to us, saying that we are good people, but that is not what scripture says. We are deceived. I learned this whole heartly after I came out of the new age. We are so full of the lies that have been given to us, that we don’t know how to get out of them.

I also learned that the new age and all of the things of this world, as a matter of fact, go directly against everything that the Lord talks about, this is apparent when you really learn who He is, and what the bible says, about everything.

The bible, which is the word of the Lord, speaks clearly against divination, witchcraft, sorcery, consorting with familiar spirits, and mediums, and yet, in the world, it is celebrated. It is seen as normal and a part of everyday life. So much so, that when someone speaks against it, people think that the person is weird for it.

I grew up around all of these things. To the point where it became normal to me. I thought that these things were ok and were a part of everyday life too. I saw it everywhere, and honestly, I used it too for myself because I thought that it was going to give me insight into how to be a “good mom,” “good person,” “better wife,” and “help others” to do the same…which now I see is a lie from the pits of hell…because this is how the enemy gets us – he is after all the father of lies…more on this at another time…

For now, let’s see a few bible passages, to learn what the Lord says about divination, consorting with spirits, and mediums…

Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

Leviticus 19:26

There shall not be found among you anyone that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

Deuteronomy 18:10

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Isaiah 19:3

And finally, this passage:

…a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying (more on this at another time): the same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Acts 16: 16-18

*Here we see the Lord showing us, that the disciples, cast out a demon of divination from this young girl. Which shows us in multiple ways how the Lord feels about divination, as well as what is behind divination. *

We see in all of these passages, that the Lord hates divination, and yet, we practice it, for the most part, because we don’t know that it is a sin – but it is.

You see, when you are lost, and don’t know how to deal with your everyday, or when you are looking for help, knowledge seems like a great thing, and you want it to help you deal…but this knowledge is wicked. Those who practice it, for the most part, just want answers and help, only they don’t know that the answers and “help” are actually mixing lies with truth and are damning them.

They are tired, of feeling lost and confused. Of being hurt over and over by the people that they have trusted, and they are seeking answers. Answers that we can find this way…

The problem is that with these answers, we also open doors to the demonic realm, and what comes through, is nothing good. And people that are just “trying to be good” get lost in the midst of wickedness.

The Lord puts it this way:

The words of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanliness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5: 19-21

Now here, for your consideration) is what a few of these words mean:

– lasciviousness: unrestrained sexual behavior. Lustful, lewd.

– variance: contention, strife, disagreement, reflecting a lack of unity and harmony.

– emulations: copying someone else’s behavior or attributes.

– revellings: excessive and unrestrained celebration, often accompanied by revelry\, indulgence and sinful behavior.

– seditions: rebellious action against lawful authority

Divination opens the doors to many of these things and so much more, that I will cover as the Lord directs and allows. We open doors to the demonic realm which brings things like depression, guilt, shame, bitterness, anger, and rage (this is just the start). All of the things that we, when we start to dabble in the new age, are trying to run away from. Things that we are at first convinced that are helping us. That we begin to believe is for our good, but we begin to see the opposite growing in our lives, like a cancer.

His word is very clear. Yet, we don’t hear about this often because our society and culture, is overrun by those who promote these wicked things, and we who are searching for the Lord, who get lost in the midst…this is why Jesus came. To save us from this wickedness.

When I was practicing these things, I began to feel and walk in some of evils that are mentioned above. I realized that the “goodness” that I thought that I was, the enemy was using to bring more people to him…because what God gives us for good, the enemy corrupts and uses for evil.

I learned that we can not be “good” outside of Jesus Christ. He is our lamp and guide.

In fact, in Mark 10:18 Jesus states it clearly, when speaking about goodness, responding to a question by saying “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.”

If Jesus, who came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died on a cross for our sins, said this, what does this mean for the rest of us?

You see, although we want to do good, be pleasing and helpful, when we are not lead by Jesus, it is hard to do that, because we are blind when we follow the world, and worse, we are in danger of damnation to hell.

In Revelation 21:8 it says:

“…the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

But the Lord said, to those who repent of their sins: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as while as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.“, in Isaiah 1:18. He wants us to wash ourselves clean, and to stop doing evil things, and to learn to do what is right.

You see. Although these things are wicked, and lead us into paths of destruction and death, the Lord promises life to those who come to Jesus. He is the ultimate atonement for our sins. 

Today, my message is simple. Repent of the new age and turn to Jesus today. Time is speeding up, and we need guidance, covering and grace, to navigate the world, and the new age, card, astrology, divination, seers, etc., will not give what you are looking for…only Jesus can do that.

The only one that can heal, and save is Jesus. The Lord is the only one with the answers. He is the one that is beyond space and time. He is the beginning the middle and the end. He knows all and sees all…and most importantly, he IS good.

He is SO good, that in his mercy, he sent Jesus to die on a cross for me (and you) so that we could be saved. The truth is that for my involvement in the new age, in it’s entirety, I deserve hell, as does anyone and everyone else that is practicing these things…and yet, the Lord knew, in His kindness and mercy that we were going to go astray, and he sent His only begotten son, to die for us. A wonderful mercy and grace that we don’t deserve, and yet he gave us. All we have to do is seek.
